The Nigeria Police Service Commission Sets Date for Computer Based Test

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially scheduled Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, as the date for the Computer Based Test (CBT) for successful candidates who advanced through the recent credentials and physical screening exercises conducted nationwide. Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations, confirmed this development in a statement released on Thursday.

A total of 171,956 applicants emerged successful from the screening exercises held across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, securing their spots for the upcoming CBT. These candidates, vying for General Duty positions, are poised to undergo rigorous assessment through the CBT process.

Additionally, the statement outlined that 43,778 successful candidates from the specialists cadre will undergo practical tests, with the date to be announced soon. The decision to entrust the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) with conducting the CBT underscores their longstanding expertise in managing such examinations, as approved during the Police Recruitment Board meeting held on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024.

Among the successful candidates invited for the screening exercises, 171,956 individuals have been shortlisted for the JAMB CBT, comprising 25,818 females and 146,138 males. Notably, Kaduna State leads with the highest number of candidates, totaling 12,343, followed closely by Bauchi with 10,911, Benue with 10,532, and Katsina with 10,457 candidates.

Conversely, Anambra, Lagos, and Ebonyi present the lowest numbers of candidates for the aptitude tests, with 343, 504, and 600 applicants respectively. As the countdown to the CBT commences, candidates are gearing up for the next phase of assessment, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards joining the esteemed ranks of the Nigerian Police Force.
